COFFEE CHERRIES
Yep, coffee is a fruit! It will take approximately 3 to 4 years for a newly planted Coffea tree to bear the 'coffee cherry' which turns a bright, deep red when it is ripe and ready to be harvested
- typically by hand.
GREEN SEEDS
Once the coffee is picked, processing must begin as quickly as possible to preserve the fruit. Either of two methods - dry or wet - used depending on location & resources. After drying, milled seeds are known as 'green coffee'.
PERFECT ROASTING
Roasting transforms green coffee into aromatic brown "beans" by unlocking in the caffeol - a fragrant oil - inside resulting in the flavor and notes in the coffee we drink. Once roasted, enjoy the coffee as soon as possible.
